Card for Joe and Judy
The stamps that i used were Penny Black stamps
- Snowy Grove
- On the town (for the lamppost and bench)
- Mo Manning / PB –Doggone Sweet
- Christmas Cheer (sentiment)
Note: Again, it is okay if you dont use MISTI the stamping positioner, but since i have it, i have used this big snowy grove stamp multiple times, it has become my favorite stamp for christmas.
The inks i used:
- Distress Ink /Reinker gathered twig (brown) , mustard seed (yellow), fired brick (red) and black soot (black)
- Versafine onyx black
- Bister (mahogany)
- Inktense derwent color pencil
For the background, i used Snowy Grove stamp, inked with distress ink gathered twig (at the bottom) and fired brick (at the top) and mustard seed all over. My intention was to create some kind of mist and perspective, so the left and right edge was inked properly and the center was inked less (faded effect).
I stamped to the paper, and sprayed a lot of water with spritzer. Let the color blend with water, if too excess and “flood”, pat with paper towel to remove the excess water in the undesired area.
Because i used misti, i can repeat multiple time to get the effect i like, but in fact one time stamping is okay too. As long as the left and right edge are clear and sharper than center to create depth.
When it is still wet and watery, sprinkle some bister and it ll disperse naturally with water. Do not heat dry as it ll leave terrible watermark, unless thats the effect you are looking for. Let it air dry.
Once its dry, Stamp the lamppost with versafine onyx black. Then stamp the bench and the sentiment with versafine onyx black. Clear Emboss them to make it shiny, if not you can leave it as is.
Use black soot distress reinker to make the ground
I stamped the dog and colored with inktense derwent. When it’s dry, i fuzzy cut it and used foam tape to attach to the card.
